Myth Busting - "I can’t"
So often when I share my story of transformation - 5 successful career changes, moving from corporate to NFP, city relocation, 2 sabbaticals and now leading a nomadic life, I hear the response:
"I can't"
Or when I share how I feel my emotions and feelings, dive into my shadows, speak on edgy topics or show my vulnerabilities, I hear from others:
"I can't"
*****
I get it. I have been paralysed by "I can't".
I can't be an Actuary. I can't live my life and keep my parents happy. I can't leave my 11 year relationship. And just to keep it real, one that feels a bit more alive - "I can't be a millionaire and be in genuine service to my community"
So what if I challenge you with this:
What if instead of "I can't", we change the narrative to "How?"
How can I change my reality to make this happen?
How can I change my mindset to be curious about this?
This small change opens up a whole world of possibilities. Do you feel it?
How do the words "I can't" feel? And the word "How"?
"I can't" closes me up - my mind, heart and body.
"How" gives me a sense of expansion, lightness and openness.
Try it, give it a whirl. What are your experiences of your cant’s and hows?
